"One Belt One Road" Medical Device Innovation and Application Alliance was established in Shanghai

After a year of planning, preparation and implementation, the "One Belt One Road" Medical Device Innovation and Application Alliance led by the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology has turned from an initiative to a reality. It was officially established in Shanghai on the 8th. We are building a community with a shared future for medical devices, leading the creation of a viable medical device industry-university-research innovation application ecosystem.
 
 
 
It is understood that the "Belt and Road" Medical Device Innovation and Application Alliance is inspired by the "Belt and Road" initiative to achieve global medical device resource sharing, complementary advantages, mutual benefit, mutual promotion, innovative applications, and overall improvement.
 
 
 
The number of members increased from 19 initially participating in the initiative to 55. They are from China, Singapore, Israel, Sweden, Canada, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, the United States, Romania, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Serbia, Slovenia, South Korea, Malaysia, Switzerland, Brazil, 18 countries including Portugal, involving universities, industry associations, medical device manufacturers, large distributors, science and technology parks, third-party medical service organizations, law firms, etc.
 
 
 
"Our vision is to create an influential international innovation platform for medical devices, and become a positive force in promoting the development of innovative applications of medical devices in countries along the'Belt and Road' and promoting the healthy development of global healthcare." President of Shanghai University of Science and Technology, "Belt and Road" Ding Xiaodong, director of the "One Road" Medical Device Innovation and Application Alliance Committee, said.
 
 
 
Based on the long-term and in-depth exchanges between the members of the alliance and the active exploration of the integration of advantages, the signing ceremony of cooperative research and development, investment cooperation and academic exchanges were carried out on site.
 
 
 
After the founding conference of the alliance, the first "Belt and Road" Medical Device Innovation Forum was held. Experts from 7 countries gave keynote speeches on the theme of "jointly innovating medical devices and jointly safeguarding human health".
 
 
 
"In the future, the'Belt and Road' Medical Device Innovation Forum will be the annual event of our alliance, and will continue to promote in-depth exchanges, docking, integration, and cooperation among the various innovative subjects of medical devices." Vice President and Alliance of Shanghai Polytechnic Medical Devices and Food College Secretary-General Cheng Yunzhang said.
